Piccadilly Radio

We are digitising the entire Piccadilly Radio archive in 2025 thanks to Lottery Players, the Manchester Libraries Trust and Piccadilly Radio ex-staff. You can read more about the project in this press release and in the posts below.

You can now browse and listen to over 750 full-length Piccadilly Radio shows on Central Library’s Sound + Vision pods.

Our volunteer opportunities are now closed but if you have any off-air recordings at home that you would like to get digitised for free, please get in touch!

You can explore the history of Piccadilly Radio in the Archives+ exhibition area until 31 December 2025.

None of this would be possible without National Lottery players and the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
